Holland House

2001

A building with a strong modernist expression was desired by the client together with clean and clear delineation of the various components of the house.

The building resulted in a series of bold interlocking prisms. Openings are arranged in order to accentuate the “building blocks,” whilst the windows are given a strong but abstract presence, expressed as a series of punched openings with variable trim, and placement in the external envelope. The interior is carefully organised to provide an entry ‘gallery’ spine with large living focus at the rear and flanking swimming pool.
