Kirk Road is a contemporary building planned responsively to the specific spatial needs of a large family and to the constraints and opportunities that the site affords. The house accommodates use by various members of the family either separately on different occasions or jointly at other times.

The form is a predominantly single storey volume with a smaller offset second storey that 'cantilevers' over the structure below. This offset creates a strongly three dimensional and dynamic building whilst achieving maximum north orientation and reduced building mass to the street frontage.
