TAC Head Office

GEELONG

2009

In December 2005 the State Government of Victoria announced that the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) would move its head office facilities along with its 600+ staff to Geelong.

WILLIAMS BOAG Architects was selected to develop a brief for the interiors, assist TAC and their project management team in the review of developer proposals and subsequently undertake the design, documentation and delivery of the fit out of the TAC within the context of an integrated Base Building/Tenant Fit out approach.

The TAC GHQ is designed to provide TAC with an open plan flexible workspace. The 750+ workstations are all located adjacent to natural light, meeting facilities and utilities areas. Quiet rooms are located in each quadrant of the building within strong coloured pods, providing way finding and features in the workstation environment. The central building atrium, sized and located by WBa, connects the 4 main tenancy levels via open staircases and provides natural light to the neutral, relaxing tones in the staff breakout areas furnished with timber seating and lounge chairs. The ground floor reception is open to the building lobby during business hours and shares common finishes with the Base Building providing TAC with an open and accessible client interface.
